MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company declared Shipping Line of the year 2010

MSC announced that it has been awarded the prestigious IFW “Container Line of the Year Award” 2010. The IFW citation read: “MSC provides a service network via dedicated offices

throughout the world and remains a truly independent and private company, able to respond quickly to market changes and implement long term plans, without unnecessary interference or delay.

As of the end of September 2010, MSC was operating 423 container vessels with an intake capacity of 1,776,000 teu.

With a streamlined management structure in Geneva, MSC has become a leading customer-focussed and cost effective global transportation solution for many shippers.

The Line was named Shipping Line of the Year in 2007 for the sixth time in 11 years by IFW’s sister publication Lloyds Loading List, an achievement not matched by any other shipping line”.

Managing Director Dan Everitt said “We are delighted to have won this significant award, coming such a short time after the Industry as a whole has suffered tough Economic changes.
